Business Intelligence (BI) — From Data to Decisions

Discover how business intelligence can help you make better decisions for your business.

What is BI and how can it help your business?

Business Intelligence (BI) is a strategic capability that enables organizations to turn data into profitable decisions.
By integrating, analyzing, and visualizing the information generated every day, BI helps uncover business opportunities, streamline processes, anticipate risks, and improve performance across the entire organization. More than reporting, Business Intelligence provides clarity, control, and a competitive edge to drive sustainable growth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Business Intelligence (BI) is the collection and processing of data to generate insights that support decision-making for business leaders—enabling faster, smarter decisions.

At Run IT, we build Business Intelligence solutions using Power BI. In many cases, Power BI can be used without additional licensing beyond Microsoft 365, especially for individual use in the desktop app—without limitations on data sources or dashboard/report creation.

However, if you want to automatically share reports and insights with more users (for example, through the Power BI service), additional licensing may be required.

You can use Power BI to build reports and dashboards across different areas of the business. For example, a dedicated analyst can use Power BI to process data, create management reports, and then publish them for other teams to consume.

Likewise, a sales team member can rely on the Power BI mobile app to track progress against sales targets and drill down into the details of new potential customers.
